The Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum

The Fleet Air Arm Museum is fortunate to have a dedicated supporting charity called The Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum (SoFFAAM) .  There are currently approx. 1100 members.

For further details please visit the SoFFAAM website membership page where you can download an application form.  Benefits of membership  include an excellent quarterly journal entitled 'The Jabberwock ' which includes first hand accounts by those who served, or serve, in the Fleet Air Arm (see below).  In addition, as a member you are granted free admission to the Museum and you may also be accompanied by up to three guests at a reduced entrance fee of 50%.  You will also be entitled to a discount in the Museum shop.

From time to time the SoFFAAM also hold Members Days during which members are permitted to tour areas at RNAS Yeovilton which are normally off-limits such as the Royal Navy Historic Flight and Cobham Hall (a huge storage facility containing thousands of items not currently on display in the Museum).

The Secretary of the Friends, Malcolm Smith, is also joint editor of The Jabberwock and is always on the lookout for new articles - in particular from those who served in the Fleet Air Arm post World War Two.  The editorial team has full access to the Museum's archive and will be happy to supply suitable photographs to accompany any articles.  If you are interested please e-mail Malcolm who will be delighted to hear from you.
